Tsawwar… Mohamed Moulessehoul

“Hana is a photographic project that reinterprets the ancestral art of henna through a contemporary lens. Traditionally linked to ritual and celebration within North African cultures, henna is here detached from its ceremonial context and reimagined as a living form of artistic expression within the everyday. All photographs were taken in Paris, between Le Marais and Les Puces de Saint-Ouen. Shot on medium format using a Pentax 67 and Kodak film.”

Tsawwar is an ongoing visual series in Daftar that explores the stories behind a photograph, taken in the region or by an Arab photographer, written in their own words. Mohamed Moulessehoul is a photographer based in Paris, check out his work @wohawwwed
